Labor One is a mobile classroom that
brings safety and health training straight to the work site.
The 35-foot training unit will travel to any work site in the
state
and provide free, hands-on training on a variety of safety
and health topics. The classroom has a maximum capacity of 20
people.

TRAINING TOPICS
Labor One offers a variety of training
topics in construction or general industry. A sample list of topics
is below; however, if you have a specific request
that is not listed, please contact NCDOL and special arrangements can be
made.

Construction: Falls, Struck-by, Crushed-by and Electrical
- Fall protection
- Electrical hazards
- Scaffolding
- Trenching and Excavations
- Ladder Safety
- Personal Protective Equipment
REQUEST LABOR ONE
Businesses can request a visit from Labor One by filling out the online
registration form or by calling 1-800-NC-LABOR (625-2267). A 30-day
notice is preferred, but arrangements may be made closer to the requested
training date depending on scheduling.
Training classes require a minimum of 10
participants. Multiple businesses—such
as subcontractors on a construction site—may combine their employees
to meet the minimum requirements.
Training will be customized to suit the needs of the employer and provide
safe work practices on site. Most sessions require one hour per subject,
however, training sessions may be modified if necessary.

The Education Training and Technical Assistance Bureau coordinates
and conducts various outreach programs such as safety and health schools
and workshops, speaking engagements, training events and booth displays.
