The Construction Industry Standards are contained in 29 CFR 1926.  In addition, certain General Industry Standards contained in 29 CFR 1910 may also apply. OSH Division standards page

Operating Documents

Information about how the OSH Division enforces standards can be found in many places. The following operating documents may be useful. Please review the titles on each index page for specific subjects.

Compliance (CPL) Directives - a CPL is a federal operating procedure used by the OSH Division which relates to enforcement of a particular standard.

Field Operations Manual (FOM) - the FOM contains permanent OSH Division operating procedures.

Operational Procedure Notices (OPN) - An OPN is an OSH Division operating procedure which may clarify or replace a federal operating procedure. These include special emphasis programs and temporary operating procedures, many of which are specific to inspection activities or hazards in the construction industry.

Standards Notices (SN) - an SN is an OSH Division standards interpretation.
